About the Opportunity
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint a Joint Non-Executive Director (Chair of Audit Committee) to join their Boards. This is an exceptional opportunity to help shape the future of two ambitious and forward-thinking NHS organisations working in close partnership to improve population health, reduce inequalities and deliver outstanding patient care. Working alongside our Joint Chair David Wakefield and Joint Chief Executive Karen James OBE, this new appointment represents the next step in developing shared governance and strategic alignment between our Trusts.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital and community services across Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and the High Peak area. Annual budget: £514m, Workforce: 6610, CQC rating: Requires Improvement overall, Good for Caring.
Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust delivers acute and community services for around 250,000 people across Greater Manchester and Derbyshire. Annual budget: £375m, Workforce: 5033, CQC rating: Good overall.

The Role
As Chair of the Audit Committees you will:
- Lead independent review of the Trusts financial statements and internal controls.
- Oversee governance, risk management and assurance processes across clinical and non-clinical areas.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic challenge and support as part of a unitary Board working collaboratively with Executive and Non-Executive colleagues.
About You
We are seeking an experienced and financially qualified professional with:
- CCAB qualification and membership of a recognised professional body.
- A strong background in finance, audit and governance.
- Experience operating at a senior or board level in a complex or regulated environment.
- Ideally prior experience as a Non-Executive Director preferably within the NHS or public sector.
- Values-driven independence in thought and the ability to balance scrutiny with support; a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities is essential.
