This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Financial Controller to join a well‑established, growing organisation supplying major UK manufacturers.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in strengthening financial reporting, improving controls, and supporting operational teams across the site. This is a hands‑on, development‑focused role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and being at the centre of manufacturing operations.
The Opportunity
As Assistant Financial Controller, you will support all elements of financial management for a high‑volume manufacturing facility, including:
- Month‑end processes, general ledger management and P&L analysis
- Full balance sheet reconciliation and integrity checks
- Budgeting, forecasting and cost‑tracking
- Internal controls, compliance activity and SOX testing
- Collaboration with commercial, logistics and operational teams
- Liaison with a shared service centre for AP/AR queries
- Supporting stocktakes, variances and fixed asset control
This role provides excellent exposure to plant leadership and offers a clear development path, with the chance to progress.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- AAT Level 4 qualified or part‑qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA
- Experienced in general ledger, bookkeeping and month‑end routines
- Curious, proactive and confident working with operational teams
- Ideally experienced in manufacturing or automotive (not essential)
- Familiar with ERP systems (any platform)
- Interested in automation, Power BI or process improvement
