Seymour John are supporting a well-established Telford-based business in recruiting a proactive Accounts Assistant. Starting salary is £28,000, rising to £30,000 after 3 months based on performance.

We’re looking for someone with a logical, analytical mindset, confident working with graphs, percentages, cashflows, and break-even reporting, and open to trialling new software add-ons to QuickBooks to enhance reporting and insight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process supplier invoices, expenses, credit cards, and bank reconciliations in QuickBooks
  • Create sales invoices and check categorisation/VAT accuracy
  • Prepare weekly reports, cashflows, and break-even analysis
  • Work with Excel to produce budgeting, analysis, and data visualisations
  • Explore and implement new tools to improve financial reporting
About You
  • Strong QuickBooks experience (including locations/departments reporting)
  • Solid VAT knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Analytical, logical, and comfortable with data interpretation
  • Able to work independently to weekly deadlines
  • Confident communicator with a patient, approachable attitude
