My client is looking for a motivated, accurate and detail-focused Assistant Technician to join their team.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to kick-start their career within the London Market insurance sector.

You don’t need previous insurance experience.

They’re looking for someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills, good numerical ability and a genuine willingness to learn.

You’ll receive structured training and support to develop your technical knowledge and build a strong foundation for a long-term career within the insurance market.

The Role

As an Assistant Technician, you’ll be responsible for processing and validating London Market insurance data accurately and efficiently.

This is a data-focused, process-driven role, so you’ll need to enjoy working with information, following established procedures and paying close attention to detail.

Some of the work can be repetitive, but accuracy and consistency are critical to delivering a high-quality service to our clients.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team while developing your knowledge of the London Market and building professional relationships with both colleagues and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process London Market insurance underwriting data accurately and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Analyse technical data and identify discrepancies, missing information or potential issues.
  • Calculate technical transactions, including limits, premiums and deductions.
  • Input and maintain data accurately across relevant systems.
  • Work within agreed quality, accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with established procedures and client requirements.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with client counterparts.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute as a proactive and supportive member of the team.
  • Support cross-functional teams and work across multiple client accounts when required.
  • Take pride in the quality and accuracy of your work and support colleagues in achieving team objectives.
  • Work closely with your line manager to contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal and professional development.
  • Work towards gaining your CII qualification and developing your knowledge of the insurance market.

Qualifications & Experience

You will need

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above, including Mathematics and English Language.
  • A willingness to study towards a CII qualification.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good level of numerical ability and confidence working with data.

Previous experience in insurance, financial services or a professional office environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
