An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager at the iconic Pomme d\’Or Hotel. Superbly located in the centre of St Helier, overlooking Liberation Square and the yacht marina, the 143-bedroom Pomme d\’Or has been a focal point for business and leisure for over 180 years and has a long, significant history at the heart of Island life.
You will be fully accountable for all aspects of running a high-end town-centre operation that comprises a carvery restaurant, brasserie restaurant, four bars, room service and meetings and events facilities for up to 300, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service standards across all areas.
We are looking for a self-motivated, forward-thinking individual who brings proven experience within a luxury, multi-outlet environment, preferably with a strong, F&B-focused background. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high levels of guest focus and possess solid financial and commercial awareness. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to lead and develop your team and influence all areas of the business. You will have a hands-on approach and take a proactive role with departmental managers in order to identify and support needs at all levels. You will be an inspirational leader who is passionate about delivering extraordinary guest experiences and takes pride in sharing success with your team. You will ensure that heads of department are mentored and developed and that the hotel team as a whole is well trained and highly motivated.
As the ideal candidate:
- You will be truly passionate about hotels and the food and beverage industry, innovative by nature and fully up to date with trends in your field.
- You will have extensive product knowledge, with real enthusiasm for high-quality fresh food and creative drinks.
- You must be highly organised, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are a hands-on manager who thrives on being present throughout the operation, with meticulous attention to detail.
