Sewell Wallis is recruiting for a Head of Finance and Commercial for a South Yorkshire public sector organisation based in Sheffield. This is a senior leadership role reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for shaping financial strategy, driving commercial performance and ensuring strong financial governance across the organisation.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Leading and developing the finance and commercial team, driving engagement and improvement
- Delivering financial strategy, annual budgets and strategic advice to the CEO and ELT
- Producing accurate reporting, forecasting and financial models for ELT and Board decisions
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, audit standards and government frameworks
- Overseeing annual accounts, external audit, procurement and commercial policy compliance
What Skills Are We Looking For?
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA) with senior-level experience
- Proven leadership capability with experience developing high-performing teams
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to deliver operational excellence
- Skilled in budgeting, costing models and financial analysis
- Excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills and commitment to inclusion
