Sewell Wallis is working with an innovative Manufacturing company based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, who are looking to secure a Financial Controller with an immediate start. This Financial Controller role operates as the sole finance contact within a £8mil T/O business unit that reports into a wider group, which share the same passion for innovation in the manufacturing industry. You'll have support and direction from the Group FC, and the shared service hub of the wider UK group finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Financial Controller who loves to get stuck into the numbers and enjoys partnering with the wider team, someone who enjoys being in a busy, ever-changing manufacturing environment. You'll need to be confident pushing change and keen to get stuck into driving process improvement and streamlining to increase baseline profits.
What will you be doing?
- Ownership of the site month end financial close, ensuring completion within Group deadlines
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliation
- Accurate forecasting and analysis of management information to understand variances
- Present information to the senior leadership team, understanding KPIs and offering corrective actions and influencing decision making across the business
- Involvement with process improvement and efficiencies
- Oversee the stock control process and coordinate year end stock takes
- Preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate
What skills are we looking for?
- Qualified candidate - CIMA, ACCA, ACA
- Excellent communications skills, confident talking to various stakeholders from different backgrounds
- Someone who enjoys being hands-on and getting stuck in across departments on site
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experienced in cost accounting
- Experience with process improvement projects, with a forward-thinking and progressive mindset
