Sewell Wallis are working with a rapidly growing and highly diverse business based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, who are looking to recruit a Senior Group Accountant. This newly created Senior Group Accountant role will support the Financial Controller with all technical finance queries across the business. You will be joining a highly acquisitive, fast-paced company, who offer exceptional career progression and a role that will give you exposure to the senior leadership team. With offices based in Harrogate and Leeds, you can choose which site you work from; however, regular travel to the Harrogate head office will be required.
What will you be doing?
- Provide day to day technical support across the Group
- Play a key role in acquisition accounting and supporting to integrate divisional companies into the Group
- Develop and implement accounting processes and controls across the finance function
- Produce the statutory accounts for all Group entities
- Perform full monthly balance sheet reviews
- Support external audit and respond to audit queries
- Produce the monthly consolidation and Board Pack
- Support with ad hoc projects as and when required
What skills are we looking for?
- ACA/ACCA qualified having trained at a recognisable accountancy firm
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP
- A proactive worker who uses their own initiative
