The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

Location: Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees, Elland, York

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (can be worked flexibly)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Bonus opportunity: Up to £2,400 per year (measurement based on company and personal performance)

Role Overview: Reporting to the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Supervisor, the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems across our portfolio. This position includes managing both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, covering general repairs and the upkeep of various systems such as splits, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, refrigerated display and storage cabinets. The role will require mobile working from different sites across the North of England and Lincolnshire and may require participation in the out of hours on-call rota. Company vehicle, tablet, and phone will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out statutory and planned maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems, including repairs to splits, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and refrigerated units, to uphold Sewell Facilities Management's high standards.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests from the Customer Care Team, ensuring swift, effective resolutions and maintaining high service standards across all managed properties.
  • Identification and reporting/repairing of defects and maintenance requirements within Sewell properties.
  • Assist with compiling information for maintenance and repair quotations, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Communicating information to the client, facilities officers, and management as appropriate.
  • Liaise with external contractors as and when appropriate to meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintain a safe, legally compliant work environment by adhering to all relevant health & safety regulations across all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to address emergency callouts, providing reliable and timely responses to urgent issues.

Requirements Skills and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Full driving license, valid in the UK.
  • Valid qualifications, i.e., Level 2 & 3 NVQ in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • F-Gas certification.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, preferably within a similar industry or sector.
  • Possess a positive & professional attitude.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Proactive approach towards both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise with contractors.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise numerous tasks.
  • A positive approach to learning & development.
  • Possess a flexible outlook towards working hours (additional hours over basic contracted may be required).
  • Strong knowledge of current health & safety practices.

Desirable:

  • First aid trained.
  • Knowledge of front-end BMS (building management systems).
  • Experience with plumbing & heating systems.
  • 18th edition electrical certification & experience.
