LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We are seeking a Principal Water Resources Specialist to play a crucial role in shaping our future, driving business improvement, and making a tangible impact on the environment. Join us and be part of a team that values expertise, collaboration, and continuous development.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Compliance with the Water Framework Directive: Lead a workstream that focuses on understanding how our water operations impact the aquatic environment. You will identify what solutions need to be put in place to protect the environment and meet our Water Framework Directive obligations.
- Expert Support & Advice: Provide specialist support and advice relating to water abstraction and the environment. Lead technical workstreams looking at AMP8 abstraction licensing strategy, environmental investigations, impact assessments, and investment options appraisals.
- Technical Delivery: Lead the client‑side technical delivery of Severn Trent\’s statutory WINEP commitments for Water Framework Directive No‑Deterioration, focusing on solutions to low flow problems. Ensure compliance with Water Framework Directive legal obligations and achieve AMP8 regulatory targets.
- Consultant Management: Manage technical water resources work packages delivered by consultants. Ensure they meet the EA\’s WINEP requirements as agreed in Measures Specification Forms and comply with EA\’s WINEP and PR24 guidance.
- Target Definition: Define water abstraction targets required to achieve our Water Framework Directive obligations for the PR29 investment plan and WRMP29.
- Regulatory Trust: Build trust with regulators by ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to address their queries.
You’ll be based at our Head Office in Coventry. You’ll work within our Asset Strategy team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week and also holds a full U.K driving licence.
