We have an exciting opportunity to join our Waste Networks team as a Pollution Improvement Manager. Reporting to the Regional Environmental Business Lead, you’ll play a key role in making sure we deliver sector leading pollution performance in AMP 8.
The role will provide the opportunity to build great relationships with external stakeholders such as the EA, as well as working collaboratively across many teams and business areas to drive best practice and look for new and exciting ways to tackle pollutions. We have huge ambitions with large investments in Waste across AMP 8, there’s never been a better time to join Waste Networks!
The Pollution Improvement Manager 12-month role is covering the East of our region, from the base of our Mansfield site in Nottingham. This role has been created to have the sole focus on how we can be better, by bringing a strategic focus to drive better performance for the region you cover.
We are looking for someone who has evidence of providing impeccable service to external stakeholders such as the EA or local Council and has managed teams within utility companies or companies of a similar scale.
So, once you have started in role, what will you be up to?
- Proactively drive pollution improvement, looking for better ways of working and driving standards through the teams
- Ensure field and county teams gather all the correct evidence in order to comply with the regulatory commitments
- Support the teams to deliver the best pollution performance in the sector
- Support site response to challenging incidents
- Work collaboratively with wider teams including Waste OCC, County Teams, Environmental & CCS
- Zero serious pollutions from our assets
- Drive down repeat pollutions
- To be visible in the field and become a go to person for the managers when they need help with change and performance in their team
