We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Plug and Play team and help shape the future of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Leading the mechanical design process, including specifications, optioneering, and detailed design.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into robust mechanical solutions.
- Supporting early-stage commissioning planning and ensuring designs meet regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
- Continuously improving standard designs based on feedback, risk assessments, and performance data.
- Ensuring seamless integration between product design and site implementation teams.
We are looking for a design-focused mechanical engineer with a passion for infrastructure, modular engineering, and innovation. You’ll bring:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in mechanical design.
- Familiarity with CAD and digital mechanical design tools (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical).
- Experience managing product life cycles and working with supply chains.
- Strong understanding of H&S, mechanical safety, and risk management in engineering design.
- An innovative and collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders to drive practical, effective solutions.
- Flexibility to travel between sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis as projects demand.
