Based at either our Raynesway Offices in Derby or our Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry, we’re looking for our next Contract Specialist to join our experienced team.
The role of the Contract Specialist is critical to the effective and efficient delivery of the Developer Services New Connections contracts ensuring support is given to stakeholders on its application, supplier relationships are maintained, contractual obligations are delivered and excellent contractual governance is administered.
The key duties of the role are:
- Provide support to internal stakeholders advising on all matters related to the contract and its Scope
- Full and detailed understanding of the relevant contracts, facilitating the successful delivery of the contract.
- Seeking opportunities for contract efficiencies, value and identify contract leakage and actions to recover, to identify and deliver between 2 and 5% incremental value (cost reduction or new revenue).
- Manage demand to identify opportunity through consolidated activity/economies of scale, work allocation, profile and forecasting to optimize contract performance
- Seek to include further work (that falls within the Scope) in the contract from other areas of Severn Trent
- Produce monthly contract position statements – volumes, KPI performance, payments, via the completion of monthly scorecards
- Monitor contract expenditure against work streams, working closely in collaboration with budget holders to ensure delivery of business objectives through the contract
- Identify contract/commercial risk and ensure clear allocation of risk and appropriate mitigation plans are in place.
- Conduct regular contract performance reviews in the line with structure contract governance protocols focused on performance (SLA/KPIs), contract compliance and cost control.

We’ll be looking for you to have knowledge of infrastructure assets and processes and we’ll want you to be comfortable and confident in negotiating, influencing and communication as you will be dealing with many different stakeholders, both internal and external. It will also be great if you have the ability to identify commercial opportunities and deliver these for the teams as well as the ability to project manage initiatives.

- Good knowledge of office/supply chain IT systems/software e.g. Microsoft Office, SAP, SAP Ariba
