Business Need / Purpose Of Role
Responsible for performing various inspection tasks within the Company under the instruction of the Inspection Team Leader, working with colleagues to ensure conformance to Company standards, specifications, and drawings.
Responsibilities And Specific Accountabilities
- Conduct inspections of products and processes related to all aspects of quality control within the Company.
- Ensure products and processes conform to relevant specifications and standards, maintaining accurate documentation in a timely manner according to Company requirements.
- Perform timely inspections and generate dimensional reports where applicable.
- Raise non-conformance reports for items or processes that do not meet standards or specifications/drawings.
- Use recognized quality control measuring techniques and equipment to ensure products meet standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping within all areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection team, under supervision.
- Ensure all measurement equipment is calibrated when used.
- Provide status updates efficiently and promptly as required.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the Inspection Lead or UK QHSE Lead to meet team objectives and customer expectations.
- Complete reports and documents such as NDE Reports, Manufacturing Route Cards, Goods Receiving Notes, Work Instructions/Procedures, Raw Materials Certification, Calibration Records, Factory Acceptance Test Certificates, and Hydrostatic Test Inspections.
Education And/or Experience
- Time Server Apprentice.
- An engineering qualification is essential, preferably ONC, HNC, or equivalent.
- Qualifications in DPI, MPI, UT are desirable.
- Experience in PMI, Ferrite & Hardness Testing is desirable.
- Experience working to high standards of quality within a strong safety culture, with knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is desirable.
- Proficient with inspection/measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, thread gauges, and hardness testers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (component and assembly).
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (manual & CNC) and/or Inspection Arms is desirable.
- Knowledge of materials certification.
