If the answer to these questions is “yes, absolutely!” then this is the role for you!!EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW We have a new opportunity to join Severn Trent’s Waste Customer Networks team covering our Central Birmingham area from our Minworth base! This team is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, improvements, and repair of our amazing waste network. The VanPack Operative role will require you to be responsible for resolving various issues and offering our customers fantastic service when they need you the most. You’ll be working within our communities, focusing on resolving issues such as blocked sewers, using an array of impressive vacuum, jetting and blockage clearing equipment. The role works a Monday – Friday, 42 hours a week (no weekend working).
Responsibilities
- Carrying out CCTV surveys of drainage systems to maintain, diagnose and determine the most appropriate solution.
- Liaising with other departments including our control centre, operations, and maintenance.
- Working within confined spaces and working at heights.
- Operating your vehicle in compliance with road transport legislation and Severn Trent policies and procedures.
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean & roadworthy condition both internally and externally.
What we’re looking for
- It is necessary to hold a C1 or above license.
- A passion for doing a quality, right first-time job, together with good attention to detail, to ensure you get to the root cause of issues and get them fixed.
- Self-motivation, the ability to work as a team as well as autonomously and have an excellent work ethic.
- The ability and desire to build strong relationships with customers.
- Strong organisation skills with an interest in problem solving.
