About the Programme
You will be based at Shelton in Shrewsbury, the heart of our patch. In this 24‑month programme you will gain experience across waste networks and sewerage operations through two in‑role placements within our Customer and Environment teams. You will study towards a Level 3 qualification in Water Industry Network Technician – Waste Water.
Program details include:
- 20 months of training and a 4‑month End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Work on‑site and experience across both the Customer and Environment teams
- Develop practical skills in network maintenance, customer service, pollution incident response, and technical asset maintenance
What You Will Learn
- How we maintain and repair our wastewater network.
- Ensuring the system works efficiently to avoid blockages.
- Working with customers to educate them on the impact of fats, oils, and greases and providing proactive maintenance surveys.
- Understanding how we respond and investigate pollution incidents.

- Starting Salary: £22,500
- Entry Criteria: If you do not already have GCSEs in English and Maths, you will need to complete functional skills as a Level 2 alternative prior to completing the apprenticeship.
- Driving Requirements: Full UK Driver's licence plus personal vehicle for commuting.
- Work Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, usually 7 am‑3 pm (hours may vary).
Review & Assessment
1‑1 meetings with business leads, mentors, study buddy, cohort leader, and New Talent Team. Face‑to‑face assessments will be conducted in April and May 2026; estimated start date September 2026. Roles close on 16 March 12pm. Apply now.
