Being a Schedule and Delivery Team Lead at Severn Trent is an exciting and varied technical expert role! Its plays a major part in our Workforce Planning & Optimisation function (this is the team that does all the liaising between the operational teams who complete the works, and our customer teams who handle customer queries that notify us of the problem). You will be leading the team that is the centralised point of contact for jobs on our network and the crews who complete the work.
You will be based at our Raynesway site in Derby, the city where all our Schedulers are based.
The role will put you as the point of contact for the team’s guidance for things like:
- Making sure there is an efficient work schedule for all Reactive Waste work, making the best use of resources available and maximising productivity.
- Making the priority decisions and reacting to high demand peaks linked to wet weather.
- Driving team performance and developing team members, ensuring our customer ethos is at the heart of all we do.
With Water and Waste being a 24/7 business for our customers we need our key workers to be covering a shift pattern to make sure our crews are working as efficiently as possible all around the clock. You will support your team of schedulers by also being present on the shift pattern. You will work on average 4 days a week coving Monday – Sunday between the hours of 7am and 10pm.

- With a focus on delivering first class customer service, you’ll make sure your team plan and communicate to our customers and operational colleagues within targeted timeframes.
- This team is a high-volume and faced paced function and you’ll need a keen eye for detail and right first-time attitude, even when dealing with repetitive tasks.

Workforce Planning & Optimisation is a high energy, proactive function and you must be able to balance priorities and workload demands ensuring that we plan the optimal schedule for our field operatives and technicians and then support them to ensure that the plan is delivered.
Multi-tasking and the ability to think creatively and innovatively to achieve our plans is essential. You’ll use challenges and grow them into opportunities of improved ways of working is essential.
