We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager to drive our risk validation processes and enhance our asset understanding. Whether you’re just starting out in project management or you’re an experienced professional, this is your opportunity to make a tangible difference in our WINEP (Water Industry National Environmental Programme) and flooding programs. At Severn Trent, we foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where your ideas, skills, and experience are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of programs to identify the necessary asset investments for our WINEP and flooding initiatives.
  • Liaise with CCTV contractors to project manage our critical sewer CCTV projects, including agreeing work packages to deliver InfoAsset outputs in line with the business requirements.
  • Manage program outputs with precision and accuracy.
  • Sourcing consultant and contractor support as required and maintain an overview of the Waste Networks capital investment program.
  • Ensure all stakeholder responsibilities are clearly defined and opportunities for partnership working are explored.
  • Adhere to and document CDM roles and responsibilities accurately throughout the project lifecycle, where applicable.

Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our projects. You will be responsible for achieving deliverables on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards. This includes effectively managing all aspects of program delivery to meet objectives. Working with Tactical Asset Planning colleagues, you will provide support, where relevant, with business cases for governance board approval and manage smooth handovers to the Capital Delivery team, including post‑project reviews. Your role also includes managing financial forecasts and budgets while identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities to ensure the successful delivery of programs.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

We’re looking for someone with strong engineering and/or technical experience ideally within the wastewater or sewer networks sector to bring technical expertise to help deliver impactful projects. If you feel you have the right engineering or technical background but don’t have experience of the water industry, we would still be keen to hear from you. A working knowledge of InfoAsset Manager (formerly InfoNet) will be required for this role, although experience with other GIS packages may also be considered. While project management experience would be highly beneficial, particularly in managing infrastructure or utilities, it’s not essential. If you don’t have much experience of this yet, we’ll support you in developing these skills. What will be fundamental is confidence, transferable skills and experience in working with contractors, coordinating teams, and ensuring outputs meet required standards. You’ll keep projects on track, within budget, and aligned with business goals, contributing to work that makes a real difference. You’ll be creative and strategic, able to adapt to changing priorities and conflicting demands. You’ll communicate clearly and confidently, and depending on your level, you’ll be able to inspire and support others. Experience with project management tools like MS Project is helpful, and a full UK driving licence is essential. Most importantly, you’ll bring positivity, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset. If you care about doing a great job and want to help shape the future of our wastewater infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s In It For You

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year)
  • Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 per annum based on company performance)
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Dedicated training and development with our ‘Academy’
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family friendly policies
  • Two volunteering days per year

We can’t wait to hear from you. Before you apply, you’ll need an updated copy of your CV and about five minutes to spare. We’ll always let you know the outcome of your application after the closing date too – so keep an eye on your phone and emails. And, if your curiosity has peaked and you want to find out even more, search on social media.
