Our Waste Water Recycling team has a great opportunity for you to join as our new Mechanical Maintenance Technician.

The position offers an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team working on a variety of equipment and assets, where you will have the opportunity to embrace curiosity and develop new skills outside of your normal day-to-day activities.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our treatment processes work optimally to deliver important work enhancing our region\’s rivers. The role will include:

  1. Proactively and reactively maintain the mechanical assets onsite.
  2. Maintain equipment such as pumps, chemical dosing systems, gearboxes, high-pressure systems, gas systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, motors, generators, drive belts, conveyors, and scrapers.
  3. Perform fabrication, lubrication, and welding activities.
  4. Continuously improve the mechanical asset base.
  5. Complete lifting operations safely as per LOLER regulations.
  6. Fault finding and diagnostics.
  7. Interpret and update mechanical drawings.
  8. Support the design and build of new processes.
  9. Own site mechanical performance.
  10. Monitor treatment processes using SCADA system and respond to alarms.
  11. Review the health and availability of assets proactively.
  12. Ensure all relevant training, including mechanical and maintenance, is up to date.

You\’ll be based at our Worksop site in Nottinghamshire. Given the critical nature of this role, we’re looking for someone who can work hours a week, across a range of shift patterns including evenings and weekends.

The role is part of a competency framework supporting your development from “Foundation” to “Skilled”, with the option to progress to “Expert” status.

As part of your ongoing professional development, you will be required to upskill as an LV/HV SAP, which will come with an additional allowance on top of your basic salary.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Along with your experience, you must hold:

  • NVQ level Mechanical qualification
  • A full UK driving licence

You should know how to work with process control systems and have a working knowledge of industrial mechanical installation standards. Experience with various IT systems used on the job is also beneficial.

You must have strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Basic instrumentation skills are desirable but not essential, as there will be opportunities to upskill and develop a second skill set.
