Our Apprentice Environmental Practitioner Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business. You will be supported every step of the way and gain practical experience in a few teams, developing your knowledge and understanding of Severn Trent and its processes. You will also learn to communicate data effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders and spend time within Asset Planning working with the team that carry out computer-based hydraulic modelling to understand the impact of our sewer network on the environment. You will update hydraulics models, visit sites to gather information, and support the creation of reports for regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency.
We welcome apprentices from diverse backgrounds and will support you with varied experiences, training and development to provide a grounding for your future career.
You will be based at Raynesway in Derby. The programme requires you to complete placements across environmental teams to gain exposure in different areas, equipping you with the right skills to build your career at Severn Trent. You will discuss your development and career ambitions in 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team. You will study towards a Level 6 qualification in Environmental Practitioner.
You will expand your knowledge of:

Location: Raynesway, Derby, Derbyshire, DE21 7BE.
Standard: Environmental Practitioner.
Apprenticeship Level: 6.
Apprenticeship Duration: 53 months (not including EPA period).
Starting Salary: Β£23,500.
Entry Criteria: 3 A-Levels at Grade AAB, or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals, including a STEM-related subject.
Driving Requirements: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required. Some sites are remote and not serviced by public transport; please ensure you can arrive safely each start day.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with patterns such as 7am β 3:30pm, 7am β 3:00pm, or 8am β 4pm.
