Severn Trent is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security function at the Severn Trent Centre head office in Coventry. The role supports safeguarding our organization’s digital infrastructure, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures that protect against evolving threats. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based in Coventry, with flexibility for home working where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce security policies, conduct risk assessments, and implement advanced security technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls.
- Lead complex security initiatives across cloud and on-premise environments, with focus in either Azure or AWS.
- Mentor, coach, and develop peers; articulate ways to develop the team and overcome adversities.
- Influence decision-making across different teams through logical thinking and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Industry-recognised certification such as CCSP, CISSP, or BCS certificate in information security is preferred.
- Strong understanding of critical security controls across multiple domains (Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Protection, Network Security, Office 365 & Email Security, Application Security, Cloud Platform Security, Operational Technology Security).
- Experience leading complex initiatives across cloud and on-premise environments, with focus on Azure or AWS.
- Experience working within Information Security operations and engineering functions, including development and documentation of integrated solutions and detailed designs.
- Strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
