Based in Coventry or Edgbaston, you will lead an integrated team of designers to develop engineering solutions for a wide range of Waste Water Infrastructure programmes within Severn Trent’s Capital Investment Programme.
Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Design Manager to lead the Engineering Design activities in our Capital River Health Enhancement team and play a proactive role in delivering our AMP8 programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering design activities for capital investment projects, including waste‑water infrastructure programmes.
- Manage an integrated team of designers, providing coaching and professional development.
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Challenge design solutions, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Act as the Principal Designer representative, discharging principal design duties in accordance with CDM regulations.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a related discipline (desirable).
- Experienced leader with strong coaching skills in solution design.
- Experience leading design projects, ideally within waste water networks.
- Experience as a Principal Designer representative, accountable for CDM duties.
- Excellent stakeholder management, adept at building relationships with diverse audiences.
- Forward‑thinking, able to anticipate challenges and respond to rapid change.
- Pragmatic decision‑maker able to assess ambiguity and see the bigger picture.
