LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT As a Health and Safety Technical Expert, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining our safety culture. You will provide specialist advice, guidance, and assurance on health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) across diverse operational environments, including water treatment, waste treatment, network maintenance, and construction projects amongst others.This is a highly technical position requiring deep knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, risk management, and best practice within high-risk industries.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the subject matter expert for health and safety compliance and technical standardsAssist in the Development and implementation of robust HSW strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with UK legislation and industry best practiceProvide expert advice on risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysisSupport operational teams with technical guidance on complex safety challengesTake part in audits and assurance activities to monitor compliance and drive continuous improvementEngage stakeholders to maintain high standards and influence best practiceDeliver training and coaching to enhance safety competence across the businessBased from our Coventry Head Office, you'll work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. From time to time, you'll also be required to take part in a standby rota to support requirements.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORYou'll bring significant health and safety experience from the utilities, construction, or another high-risk industry, alongside a strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements. Ideally, you'll hold a NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and be a member of IOSH, although we're equally interested in individuals with extensive practical experience and a genuine passion for health and safety. A full UK driving licence is also essential.We're looking for someone who can confidently influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, from frontline operational teams to senior leaders. You'll have excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess priorities and take a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
