Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine. Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Working within our exciting Waste Network Operations department, you have the chance to join the team as a Catchment Lead. In this role you will predominantly ensure the effective operation of the Sewerage Network within the Nottinghamshire region from our Mansfield site. You will be delivering full compliance on every area from Health and Safety to regulatory and company standards. Furthermore, you will focus on the needs of our customers by delivering ‘right first time’ solutions and you will implement initiatives within the sewerage networks to aid improvements to our performance measures and serviceability.

You’ll have daily activities too, such as managing and enhancing our internal and external relationships with all key parties, carrying out workplace audits to monitor our contractors’ compliance.

Your Key Accountabilities In Helping Us Will Be:

  • Lead and promote a safe working environment to achieve Goal Zero whilst ensuring all quality standards are met.
  • Improve customer experience to reduce written complaints by proactively owning and resolving all customer service issues.
  • Through workplace audits, monitor contractor’s compliance against the requirements of the contract with particular emphasis on meeting health and safety, work quality and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Ensure all internal flooding incidents within catchment have been dealt with and investigated in accordance with company standards and where necessary appropriate mitigation measures are put in place to prevent a reoccurrence.
  • Own all pollutions within catchment and ensure feedback following an incident is accurately reported and all information collated.
  • Identify all known and potential ‘Hot Spots’ within catchment and develop and maintain effective contingency measures to minimise impact on customers and the environment in the event of asset failure.
  • Identify asset investment requirements and any residual risks arising from operational activities and record details on the company’s risk management database.
  • Take part in a standby rota.

What We’re Looking For:

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too. The post holder will have experience of working collaboratively with contract partners and stakeholders across a large geographical area. Having experience of building and developing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders e.g., Customers, EA and Councils would be beneficial. An understanding of sewerage law and the operation would be desirable and not essential. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?

How We’ll Reward And Care For You:

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite perks that you’ll get being part of the Severn Trent family:

  • Salary between £40,845.25- £45,068.62 (dependent on experience)
  • Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250, which is subject to eligibility)
  • Car allowance
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Dedicated training and development with our Academy
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family friendly policies
  • Two paid volunteering days per year
