We have an exciting new opportunity as a Capital Liaison Lead based at Strensham.

Reporting to the Water Treatment Leader, the Capital Liaison Lead is responsible for leading a team of experts and ensuring that the team support Capital Delivery and Water Treatment in the delivery of the capital schemes.

This role will be accountable leading in Capital Liaison Team to provide key operational design and installation decisions - relating to plant OPEX, REOC, design, layout, access, lifting and maintenance that arise during both the feasibility and design phase of projects.

The individual will be required to liaise and consult with key stakeholders within Water Treatment & Capital Delivery to facilitate access to process plant and strategic assets as required to ensure efficient delivery of the capital projects to an agreed programme.

There is also a requirement to support operations in key activity on the ground.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing, motivating, and leading a technical team and will be able to demonstrate stakeholder management & influencing capabilities at all levels of a business.

Your key accountabilities will be

  • Provide (or source) operational experience and knowledge to support the delivery of the capital program.
  • Provide input into the design process to ensure that asset operation, maintenance and TOTEX are delivered consistently across the capital programme.
  • Support the Capital Delivery design teams to develop efficient (TOTEX) solutions that are practicable and effective on the ground.
  • Lead the coordination of a prioritised intervention plan, ensuring that the interdependencies with the grid for all 6 sites are taken into account.
  • Actively engage with Ops team, and facilitate the efficient delivery of all schemes.
  • Provide regular engagement with the operational teams on delivery of the capital programme including, progress updates, escalation items, key risks, benefits and OPEX impact.
  • Work closely with the Capital Delivery team to problem solve and unlock any problems/obstacles proactively.
  • Intervene when projects start to go off track and pull together a rapid recovery plan.

  • Required Qualifications
  • The ability to articulate complex information to those who may have basic understanding of treatment non- infrastructure through the use of verbal and written communication.
  • Previous experience in water treatment processes and operational improvement activities.
  • Familiarity with operational risk management principles and process with experience of managing significant risk.
  • An understanding of a specific asset class and its components (such as groundwater treatment works, surface water treatment works and raw water abstraction) and their associated risks, impacts and benefits.
  • Previous experience in managing contractors and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Project Management experience with responsibility for project budgets, informing investment decision making and evidence of delivering to time, cost and quality.
  • Strong influencing skills both at senior level and front-line operations. Must be able to credibly advise, guide and constructively challenge when required.
  • Leadership and people management capability. Used to managing teams and working in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • An understanding and empathy for the challenges of front-line operations.
  • Pragmatic and collaborative approach to problem solving.
