Your role will be to gain practical experience across several teams, developing your knowledge of Severn Trent and the processes that keep our customers safe and our environment protected. The programme allows you to travel within the Severn Trent region on a regular basis, gaining exposure in different areas of the department so that you are equipped with the right skills to build your career here at Severn Trent.

During the apprenticeship you will study towards a Level 2 Building Services qualification. We encourage you to read this additional information before applying.

What You Will Learn
  • Plumbing Skills – install, maintain, and fix systems, building a trade that’s always in demand.
  • Water Treatment & Legionella Monitoring – keep water safe and clean using modern techniques and technology.
  • Remedial Project Management – plan and deliver real solutions that make a tangible difference.
  • Chemical Treatment & Dosing – understand how chemicals keep water systems healthy and compliant.
  • Teamwork & Communication – work alongside experienced professionals, develop confidence, and learn how projects come together from start to finish.

Location & Travel

Anywhere within the Severn Trent region. You will travel regularly and may work from home on other days.

  • Level: 2
  • Duration: 24 months (excluding EPA)
  • Starting Salary: £22,500
Entry Criteria

Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE A‑C or Grades 4‑6). If you do not already have English and Maths GCSEs, you will need to take functional skills or equivalent as part of the apprenticeship.

Driving Requirements

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required before starting this role.
