We are seeking a dynamic Smart Metering Field Team Manager to lead a team of Smart Metering Field Technicians. Your primary objective will be to ensure the efficient rollout of meters, detect water leaks, and manage tamper alarms. You will drive performance through exceptional leadership and resource management. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service consistently and ensuring all work is carried out safely. Collaboration with contractors, business partners, and Trade Unions is essential, as is improving operational processes to minimize waste and enhance efficiency. You will lead and implement changes to boost team performance, manage budgets for operational and capital expenditure, and coordinate efforts to promptly detect and address water leaks. You will ensure the availability of resources for both planned and reactive work, build strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders, and represent the team at senior-level meetings while maintaining direct communication with leadership. Mentoring and training team members for continuous improvement is a key aspect of this role, along with ensuring compliance with safety regulations and managing customer complaints effectively.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing, leading, and inspiring teams in a pressurized, customer-focused environment. Experience in managing and leading teams through times of change is essential, as is the ability to work to targets, handle pressure, and manage emergency situations effectively. Additionally, you should also have substantial budget experience, including planning and control, and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and procedures. Familiarity with Health & Safety, HR, NRSWA, Environmental, and QA policies and standards is crucial. In addition to these experiences, the ideal candidate will possess strong capabilities in creating an engaged team through effective communication and active listening. Being skilled in planning and organizing, setting clearly defined goals, managing time effectively, and identifying and organizing resources needed to accomplish tasks are also desirable skills required for the role. An interest in leakage detection concepts, leakage reporting complexities, and an understanding of how Netbase works to report will be advantageous.
