Sitting within the Design Excellence Function of the Capital Design and Delivery Department, this role will be accountable for determining the techniques, templates, tools and processes required to establish and improve the departments design standards specifically related to electrical engineering. This role can be based from any of our capital hubs, Shrewsbury, Derby or Coventry.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOWReporting to the Design Excellence Lead, this role will explore the opportunity to adopt new techniques and technologies for the capital programme. With significant technical electrical experience at leadership level, you will set, maintain, and raise the standards within the design function. You will design training programmes, develop our junior talent, drive innovation and act as the ‘go-to’ person for all electrical related queries within the design function.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLEYou will have experience in providing technical leadership to a large programme of capital works, with a strong ability to lead input into multiple projects. You will have experience of leading a team of electrical engineers, with a background in electrical design from feasibility through detailed design, construction and commissioning. Ideally with some experience in utilities, and effective at integrating within a matrix organisation, you will be a technical expert in all things electrical.
