We have an exciting new opportunity to join Severn Trent’s new Pollution Response Team (PRT) in Network Control, our environmental emergency service. The PRT swiftly responds to Waste and Water events to prevent and mitigate pollution, using specialist vehicles and equipment. Our highly trained technicians aim to minimise environmental impact and support field teams, providing a reliable 24/7 service.
You will work within a 24/7/365 rotating shift pattern from a central base location in Coleshill, covering the Severn Trent region.
Shift Hours Are As Follows
- 4 on / 4 off 0530 – 1630 / 1330 – 00:30 / 2130 – 0830
Key Accountabilities
- Respond to pollution events and mitigate effectively using specialist tools and equipment.
- Maintain operational readiness and respond within agreed SLAs, documenting evidence and providing updates.
- Set up traffic management, raise notices and permits electronically.
- Deploying generators to maintain power.
- Execute on-site operational activities, perform vehicle checks, liaise with departments, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Supporting with capturing pollution impact information including photographs and samples.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- To be successful in this role you must hold a clean valid driving license.
- The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.
Desirable
- Significant experience/training in a similar utility-based industry.
- Knowledge of the waste management network.
- Experience in equipment maintenance/mechanical-based work.
- Some knowledge/experience with working in the highway and related safe codes of practice.
- HGV C Class licence is desirable but not mandatory.
