Our Network Control team at Hafren Dyfrdwy (HD) have an opportunity for you to join as our new24/7 Network Controller.

In your new role, aside to being a great fit for our team, you’ll have strong analytical experience with the ability to prioritise incoming tasks, work in a pressurised environment and be confident using multiple IT systems to identify problems and co-ordinate data. You’ll also have excellent communication skills and experience of influencing stakeholders at all levels. It would also be beneficial if you have knowledge of Water Networks and/or experience of working within in a control centre environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We\’re looking for someone who has a brilliant work ethic and can work as part of a tight-knit team to deliver the best service for all customers across our water network. As a Network Controller, you\’ll take accountability for decisions that could impact customers, finances, and our reputation, by providing expert technical advice in our dedicated HD Control room.

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

  • You’ll be responsible for proactively monitoring the Wrexham water network; looking at trends and patterns to spot potential supply issues and responding reactively to any alarms.
  • You’ll carry out proactive analysis on the performance of our network assets, support any network changes, and work closely with our Operational teams to find the most effective network operation.
  • You will help drive continuous improvement within the wider HD team looking for improvements, opportunities and raising risks in a formal manner through HD Management.
  • You will be a core role within any local event or incident providing expert technical advice on the local network, and supporting or advising on decisions which impact customers, financials and or company reputation.
  • You will be a key point of contact for HD Operational teams and Severn Trent and will represent the HD Control room at any relevant meetings.
  • You will record & gather data for regulatory requirements when required and provide proactive updates to key stakeholders during any local events or incidents.
  • This is a 24/7 x 365 shift-based role including working weekends and bank holidays so a very flexible approach will be required.
