Metering Transformation and Data Manager

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team as a Metering Transformation and Data Manager in Derby.
This role leads the design and implementation of projects and continuous improvement activities that support Severn Trent’s strategic ambitions and deliver defined outcomes for our customers, ensuring governance is applied at each stage of the project lifecycle.
You will be responsible for translating Metering data activity and change plans to a wider colleague audience, with outcome-focused deliverables and benefits linked to business objectives.
You will be accountable for maximising the capability and current functionality of the Temetra system, including stakeholder management and identifying opportunities to improve processes, data, and customer satisfaction. You will also oversee the delivery of all Metering data, reports, and insights, identify improvement opportunities, and influence stakeholders to support and enhance the Commercial Data Service standards and customer engagement.
Central to this role is leading and developing a team of Data Analysts to deliver quality, accurate, and insightful data, asset tracking, and management, with a strong focus on maximising system capability.
Some Other Key Accountabilities of the role include:
- Drive continuous improvement through the Metering team’s data, including BI reporting, enhanced use of Temetra system functionality, increased in-sourcing of meter maintenance activities, and value-added work to support company ODI’s.
- Build strong relationships with Temetra, our Meter Reading system, including stakeholder management with internal teams.
- Build strong and challenging relationships between Metering and other ST functions including WMU, CDS, Metering contract, Green Recovery, etc.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and/or the introduction of value-add services within the metering journey – introduce and embed these.
- Be directly responsible and accountable for delivering assigned projects and work-streams through the predefined project lifecycle in line with Delivery Management Office standards, ensuring key activities are planned, and lessons learned are captured.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We are looking for someone with highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, proven experience in leadership, and skills in influencing and building strong relationships quickly with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will need the ability to draw sound conclusions and make suitable recommendations from data analytics/diagnostics and write compelling business cases. Competent in building project, training, and business readiness plans, and tracking benefit realization and budget expenditure.
