Our Water Quality and Environment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Regulatory Improvement Manager. In your new role, you’ll be responsible for delivering the improvement programme for our Environmental outcome, while delivering in alignment with our Environmental ambition, joining and aligning delivery across water and waste achieving strong results against our key regulatory ODI’s and KPI (EA) measures across the spectrum of our environment activities.

Additionally, you’ll be expected to build on our existing activities, developing and embedding a change programme to deliver our ambitions and handle the complete programme delivery lifecycle.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

  • Creating a risk based view of all wastewater sites using multiple data sources, similar to the principle of drinking water safety planning.
  • Developing a centralised area to bring data sources together to provide a regulatory ‘one version of the truth’ – ensuring the flexibility of reporting utilising native Microsoft platforms and approaching our data from a regulatory perspective not just a data perspective to utilise what we have in a more meaningful way.
  • Providing operational teams the power of regulatory insight in a holistic way in a clear centralised area.
  • Taking learnings from improvements with our relationship with the Drinking Water Inspectorate, considering different metrics, and applying this to the environment teams, as this develops learning can also be applied back to clean water teams.

We’re seeking our new Regulatory Improvement Manager to be comfortable identifying and managing the key strategic risks and issues facing the programme. To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll have a strong regulatory background, in addition to strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate with people of levels, including regulators. You’ll also have experience in delivering and embedding change while delivering tactical improvement programmes.
