LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT Join our team as an Engineering Technical Specialist supporting the delivery of nationally significant Strategic Resource Options (SROs). These are major water supply, water transfer, water/wastewater treatment and storage projects ranging from £150m to £1.5bn.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engineering packages for RAPID-gated projects and other strategic resilience schemes
  • Contribute to the development of optioneering, feasibility, and outline design across civil, mechanical, process, and environmental disciplines. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (including leading Consultants) to deliver high-quality, technically robust and cost-effective solutions
  • Help develop Junior members of the wider team, fostering a culture of innovation and learning
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and assurance processes, ensuring engineering quality and compliance with industry and Company standards
  • Collect and analyse data to define the problem
  • Strong personal discipline, able to operate within boundaries and parameters (design standards, H&S regulations etc.)
  • Clear Thinking and able to make educated judgements and decisions in the face of ambiguity

Location and hours: You\\\’ll be expected to work in the Midlands (England). You’ll work within our Engineering Team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

Flexible working from home is available, though travel to other sites will be required at times – so a full UK driving licence is essential.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects (water industry experience desirable)
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts, risk management principles, and project delivery principles
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction (or equivalent experience)
  • Working towards professional registration (IEng or CEng) is desirable, with support available to achieve it
  • A proactive, positive attitude and genuine interest in sustainable water infrastructure
