We’re looking for Compliance Analysts to join our Asset Planning team at our office in Derby or Coventry.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role you’ll provide expert support to the WINEP (Water Industry National Environment Programme) Environmental Manager and Compliance Specialists by interpreting and advising on the regulatory requirements of AMP7 and AMP8 WINEP, with a focus on intermittent discharges. This role will lead on investigations and drive improvements in line with the Environment Act.
You’ll also be responsible for facilitating effective engagement with external stakeholders, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, and Ofwat, as well as internal teams. Through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving, the role will ensure that investigation outcomes and improvement plans are understood and any queries are resolved. This will enable the business to operate its assets in full compliance and deliver its investment objectives.
Key requirements include:
- Support the WINEP Environmental Manager and Compliance Specialists in delivering workstreams related to overflow assets.
- Interpret and apply internal procedures to ensure robust evidence is provided for WINEP commitments.
- Assist in engagement with the Environment Agency and Natural England regarding AMP7 and AMP8 obligations for intermittent discharges.
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and internal process documentation.
- Help provide visibility of the delivery programme for EnvAct_INV4 investigations and related improvements.
- Ensure data collection aligns with protocols set by the Strategic Asset Planning team.
- Contribute to the achievement of ODI and EPA performance outcomes as required.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You’ll bring experience within the water industry, ideally with a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or wastewater networks. You’ll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with a strong track record in communication and problem-solving.
You’ll have experience following detailed protocols, managing and analysing data, and contributing to meetings. A good understanding of environmental obligations and regulatory requirements is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with GIS or modelling software is desirable.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement and sustainability. You’ll be comfortable prioritising tasks, working cross-functionally, and supporting performance outcomes. Knowledge of environmental legislation and water quality or hydraulic modelling would be an advantage.
