Join Severn Trent’s Capital Team as a Digital Engineering, Sustainability & Emerging Tech Lead. Our ambitious five-year programme, encompassing over 5,000 innovative projects, is designed to tackle the growing challenges of delivering exceptional water and waste services. About The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity as the Digital Engineering, Sustainability & Emerging Tech Lead. In this role, you’ll drive the strategy for capital innovation activities to improve ways of working, systems and processes, harnessing the best of Artificial Intelligence and seeking to rapidly adopt best practice internally and externally. You’ll effectively review, assess, trial, and implement or reject innovations and then drive these to execution, working alongside the design, commercial and delivery teams in Capital & Commercial Services.
Location: This role can be based at any of our capital hubs: Shrewsbury, Derby, or Coventry.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Capital Design, you’ll have 6-8 direct reports and oversee a team of approximately 50 people with additional services provided by specialist consultancies.
- Provide inspirational leadership to develop and continuously improve effective capability improvements.
- Continually challenge ways of working across the whole of CCS, identifying new efficiencies and innovative solutions and drive these through rapid development and rollout.
- Lead the strategic development, implementation and execution of the CCS digitisation strategy, continually adapting and refining the approach as required.
- Support, mentor, and develop the team in building a culture of high performance.
- Challenge ways of working and seek out innovative solutions through the supply chain and external organisations.
