The Apprenticeship Programme offers a blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business. Your role will involve gaining practical experience across several teams, developing knowledge of Severn Trent’s processes and effectively communicating data to stakeholders. You will spend time with the Water Network team, working outdoors to identify and reduce leakage across our network, and interacting with distribution service technicians, repair and maintenance teams, call centres, network optimisation teams, contractors, and customers.

In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in 1‑1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team.
What You Will Learn
- Identify leakage using data, tools, and techniques.
- Advise customers on water fittings and maintain meters and loggers.
- Identify water network issues and apply fault‑finding techniques.
- Calibrate equipment such as temporary loggers and pressure gauges.
- Operate the water network safely and protect the environment.

Entry Criteria
For this Level 3 apprenticeship, you should have already achieved GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or above, or be willing to study these topics to achieve the equivalent standard by the end of the programme. We will support you along this journey.
Driving Requirements
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required. Some sites are in remote locations and not serviced by public transport, so you must be able to arrive safely at work each day.
Working Hours
37/40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across a 7am–3.30pm / 7am–3pm / 8am–4pm working pattern.
