Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in Dalton, Lostock and Enniskillen. Each has full‑service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high‑quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
Key Responsibilities
- Planning welding sequences and delivering high‑quality MIG Welds, single and multi‑run fillet welds, as well as partial and full penetration butt welds.
- Reading and interpreting welding procedure data sheets and specifications.
- Inspecting and identifying welds using operator ID codes and carrying out repairs when required, all while meeting tight production deadlines.
- Using pre‑ and post‑heating equipment safely and efficiently.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience in structural steelwork fabrication.
- Skilled in working to recognised fabrication standards with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety practices.
- Experience in operating heating equipment and overhead cranes safely and effectively.
- Relevant welding qualifications or coding’s in welding (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds).
Weld Test
As part of the selection process, successful applicants will be invited to complete a practical weld test. This will involve a Single Multi‑Run Fillet Weld and an Open Root Butt Weld to assess skill level, technique, and suitability for structural steelwork.
