The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Working Hours for this role are: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 3.15pm. This role offers flexibility in location and can be based at either our Sherburn, Malton or York offices.

Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors.

In the Quantity Surveyor position you will provide support to the Quantity Surveying department by ensuring the effective management and control of commercial and contractual aspects of projects, contributing to the efficient delivery of business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • To be responsible for preparing and submitting interim valuations for projects monthly to ensure positive cash flow throughout projects.
  • To provide assistance, support and guidance on commercial issues and developing a culture of contractual awareness in project teams.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of interim valuations/applications for payment including negotiating project final accounts.
  • Produce internal cost/value reports.
  • Administrate subcontractor/supplier accounts, including the monitoring and processing of payments and settlement of final accounts.
  • Preparation of technical estimates.
  • Evaluation of hours allowed at tender stage and reconciliation of hours worked within the fabrication process.
  • To review and assist with the administration of subcontracts for each project.
  • Entering budgets and costings on the company's management information software system.
  • Responsible for logging and recording Contracts/Bonds/Insurances/Retentions/Collateral Warranty documentation.
  • Carrying out Steel take offs; measuring + qualifying material from drawings and specifications.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or steel industry.
  • The candidate will also hold BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant qualification within a Construction background.
  • Chartership desirable but not essential.
  • High level of IT literacy.
