Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen, each with full‑service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide high‑quality products across Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market.
Responsibilities
In the Design Engineer position you will work in a highly experienced design team to resolve technical and design‑related tasks to enable successful project delivery within budgetary and programme constraints. You will be working on engineering designs from the tender stage right through to construction, which will involve site evaluation, design, investigating technical issues and developing economical and sustainable solutions. You will work as part of a wider team on projects across different functions within the business—including commercial teams, manufacturing, and site construction. You will work closely with the team to develop engineered structural solutions and liaise both internally and with clients’ architects, engineers, and contractors.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering would be expected and a minimum of five years’ post‑graduation experience working on the detailed design of structural steelwork projects. Relevant experience in detailed connection design, temporary works design, or main frame design would be essential.
