In the Assistant Quantity Surveyor position you will provide support to the Quantity Surveying department by ensuring the effective management and control of commercial and contractual aspects of projects, contributing to the efficient delivery of business objectives.

Other Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • To be responsible for preparing and submitting interim valuations for projects monthly to ensure positive cash flow throughout projects.
  • To provide assistance, support and guidance on commercial issues and developing a culture of contractual awareness in project teams.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of interim valuations/ applications for payment including negotiating project final accounts.
  • Produce internal cost/ value reports.
  • Administrate subcontractor/supplier accounts, including the monitoring and processing of payments and settlement of final accounts.
  • Preparation of technical estimates.
  • Evaluation of hours allowed at tender stage and reconciliation of hours worked within the fabrication process.
  • To review and assist with the administration of subcontracts for each project.
  • Entering budgets and costings on the company's management information software system.
  • Responsible for logging and recording Contracts/ Bonds / Insurances / Retentions / Collateral Warranty documentation.
  • Carrying out Steel take offs; measuring + qualifying material from drawings and specifications.

We are looking for someone who holds or is working towards a BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant qualification. You don’t need to come from a Structural Steel background - what matters most is your commercial awareness, eye for detail, and strong communication skills.
