Overview
In this role you lead a night-shift production team to meet safety, quality, and output targets within a steel fabrication setting. You collaborate with Production Managers to align goals, coach and assess team performance, and drive training needs. You ensure safe operations, oversee toolbox talks and PPE management, and deploy staff to maximise efficiency and quality. This position offers the chance to shape team capability while contributing to Severfield’s steelwork projects across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the night-shift production team, delivering targets safely and efficiently
- Communicate company goals, safety practices and deadlines to the team; collaborate with Production Managers
- Motivate the team and conduct performance assessments; oversee training for new and existing members
- Coordinate training need updates to managers and ensure safe operations within your area
- Deliver toolbox talks to employees and contractors; ensure PPE availability, use, and maintenance; keep records
- Plan work and set targets; deploy team to maximise outputs and quality while controlling costs
- Maintain safety measures and ensure adherence to safe working practices
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the steel fabrication environment
- Take responsibility for safety and performance within your area
- Provide leadership, take ownership, and demonstrate assertiveness
