In the Project Buyer position you will be part of the Group Procurement Team, where you'll be procuring project-related materials and services across multiple business units.
You'll manage end-to-end procurement activities for high-value projects, ensuring materials are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and aligned with project budgets and requirements.
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Manage procurement activities for multiple projects from sourcing through to delivery.
- Work closely with project teams to align procurement plans with project timelines and objectives.
- Source materials and services at the best market rates while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks that could impact project delivery.
- Monitor project procurement spend and support budget control.
- Track material deliveries to meet manufacturing and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and system data.
- Review and approve supplier invoices for payment.
- Ensure compliance with supply agreements, company policies, and project specifications.
- Key Skills & experience
- Previous experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally in manufacturing / construction or steel industry.
- Good understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong numerical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Adaptable, proactive, and team-oriented.
