We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Detailer to join the team, based at our site in Lisburn. Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
In the Apprentice Detailer position you will be working alongside our in-house design and steel detailing teams using the latest Tekla Structures 3D modelling software to progress structural steel design and production of information for use in our manufacturing and construction sites.
As part of the 3 year apprenticeship, you will receive the training required to develop your CAD skills and job knowledge to a level of proficiency and confidence where you will be responsible for liaising with project teams, design teams, production/manufacture together with external engineering & architectural offices to coordinate detailing requirements for the final assembled structure and production of material reports and drawings including GA (General Arrangement Drawings), fabrication and site erection packages.
You will also study, 1 day per week, on-site at South East Regional College, to gain the theoretical knowledge alongside your practical skills. Applicants need to have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths and English. Ultimately we are looking for people who have passion, a natural interest in construction, along with analytical, problem-solving skills.
