Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors.
In the Design Engineer position you will work in a highly experienced design team to resolve technical and design related tasks to enable successful project delivery within budgetary and programme constraints. In this role you will be working on engineering designs from the tender stage right through to construction which will involve site evaluation, design, investigation of technical issues and the development of economical and sustainable solutions. You will be working as part of a wider team on projects and across different functions within the business including commercial teams, manufacturing, and site construction.
You will work closely with the team to develop engineered structural solutions and liaise both internally and with client’s Architects, Engineers, and Contractors. To be successful in this position a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering would be expected and a Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation experience working on the detailed design of structural steelwork projects. Relevant experience in any of the following: detailed connection design, temporary works design or main frame design would be essential.
