Environmental Planning & Scientific Officer

Salary: £35,162 – £50,011(pending evaluation)

Location: Council Offices, Argyle Road

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week.

We need your advice and guidance!

We are seeking an environmental health specialist with experience of commenting on planning applications from a public health perspective. A good knowledge of key areas of concern in this area with Air Quality, Environmental Noise and Contaminated Land within your remit. You will work with our Planning department across all stages of the planning process, providing advice and guidance on the environmental and public health impact of applications and proposed developments. You will help provide evidence and expert witness evidence for appeals, hearings and public inquiries.

You will also assist with the development of policies and initiatives regarding environmental protection issues. Your detail-focused approach will ensure that all records and databases are accurate available to support decisions.

This is a new role and may have the opportunity for working in the wider field of environmental health with the opportunity of specialist training where necessary.

Please note this post is for 37 hours a week and will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG.

We currently operate a hybrid-working model for the majority of our roles, where your working time will be divided between the office and home working.
