Our client is an extremely successful, market-leading food retailer with significant turnover. It is a highly commercial environment with a fast-paced culture focused on exceeding customer expectations.
This Buyer role is a new position and is ideal for an individual who wants to progress their career in a growing retailer, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
Excellent flexible working is offered - 3 days a week in the office and the rest from home (with flexible hours).
The role involves developing, implementing, and reviewing a customer-centric category strategy for a specific food category, creating innovative buying strategies that exceed customer expectations. The Buyer will create and deliver the category vision, focusing on growing cash sales and margin delivery, while building long-lasting mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
The Buyer will source new suppliers and products that will excite consumers and create value, choice, and quality, thereby growing sales and margin. Additionally, the Buyer will develop promotional plans and in-store activations that drive footfall and enhance consumer value perception. A cost reduction strategy will also be developed and managed to deliver targeted margin, requiring a strong understanding of market dynamics and commodities.
