- The Assistant Technical and Quality Manager role is ideal for an individual with experience gained from the UK food industry.
The role:
- Reporting into the Technical and Quality Manager, the Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will manage a team of three to oversee food safety and compliance across the company.
- The Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will collaborate with multiple departments to deliver company objectives.
- The Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will mentor and develop the team, ensuring development and training needs are met.
- The Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will maintain the site specification system and ensure customer portals are regularly updated and in line with customer requirements.
- In the role, the Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will oversee the Quality Management System ensuring compliance with BRCGS standards, customer requirements, and legal obligations.
- Leading the HACCP team, the Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will identify, assess, and control food safety risks in line with industry standards.
- Working with suppliers, procurement, and product development, the Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will ensure all products comply with current regulatory and safety requirements.
- The Assistant Technical and Quality Manager will promote a culture of food safety, ensuring best practices are implemented across all departments and continuous improvement is encouraged.
Ideal candidate:
- Degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
- Must have UK experience in a technical or quality assurance role gained from the UK food manufacturing industry.
- Must have a strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Must have HACCP level 3, Food Safety Level 3, and a lead auditor qualification would be ideal.
- The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and take a proactive approach to their work.
- Proven experience in leading and developing a technical team.
- Experience in Quality Management Systems.
- Experience in audits and an up-to-date knowledge of EU and UK food legislation.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are key.
- Proven ability to manage data accurately and efficiently along with problem-solving skills.
