The Opportunity Seven Local News is seeking a Producer/Reporter to lead our News Operation in Rockhampton. This is an exciting opportunity to join regional Queensland’s leading television news team. Seven Queensland provides a highly successful half hour local news service produced specifically for the region.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Journalist, able to supervise a team of journalists and camera operators/editors.
What You’ll Do
- You’ll primarily focus on developing and creating high-standard segments.
- You will be responsible for breaking news stories and creating engaging content as well as contributing to editorial meetings and liaising with the News Director regarding story development.
- In this role, you’ll be reporting to the Director, News and be based in Rockhampton.
What You’ll Bring
- You’re a driven and energetic Journalist, with the ability to think clearly and act quickly under pressure, possessing excellent communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders, as well as with the local community.
- You’re able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
- You’ll also have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in television news reporting and producing.
- Strong leadership qualities, with first-class people skills.
- Proven editorial skills.
- An advanced understanding of media law and ethics.
