The Opportunity
7News Regional is seeking a driven, multi‑skilled Journalist for our Seven Rockhampton newsroom. Reporting to the Supervising Producer and based in Rockhampton, the successful applicant will be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in the vital Rockhampton QLD market.
What You’ll Do
- Generate original daily story ideas for on‑air presentations.
- Interview, write, and voice news stories.
- Develop and maintain contacts in the community.
- Research and prepare news reports.
- Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience writing news stories.
- Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications.
- Exceptional communication and written skills.
- The ability to work to very tight/precise deadlines.
- An understanding of Broadcast Law Guidelines.
