A globally recognised fresh produce business with a fully integrated supply chain from farming to distribution, operating across fresh fruit, fresh-cut, frozen, and value-added categories. Supplying major UK retail and foodservice customers from a large, high-volume manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire.

The role is a newly created, growth-driven hire to strengthen and formalise site Health & Safety, reporting into the Operations Manager with strong on-site visibility. This is a hands-on, operational role with significant shop-floor presence, focusing on stabilising and embedding best practice before longer-term continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing and rewriting risk assessments across the site
  • Identifying and closing compliance gaps
  • Reviewing factory Health & Safety requirements and implementing improvements
  • Conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Delivering training and supporting teams to embed safe working practices
  • Developing emergency procedures and improving overall site readiness

Ideal candidate:

  • Experience in a hands-on Health & Safety role within manufacturing or food production
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
  • Confident engaging teams at all levels and influencing on the shop floor
  • Pragmatic, proactive, and able to build structure where it doesn't yet exist

  • Core hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Flexibility required to engage with night shift teams when needed
